Mission Bible College "cohort," located in Stockton, California, operates in partnership with SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary to enhance the distance education that SUM provides. Visionary Leadership

PASTOR CURTIS AND KRIS SMITH

Pastor Curtis was born in Stockton, CA and raised in the military environment in California, Nebraska and England. God stepped in and redirected him from Music industry to Ministry. He was ordained in 2006 in Sacramento where he attended Trinity Life Bible College.

Pastor Curtis was ordained as Pastor of Destiny Christian Center in May of 2010 by Bishop Esley Simmons Sr. Prior to this appointment Curtis worked as Administrator and Youth Pastor for over seven years. Dedicated to empowering the youth as leaders of not only tomorrow but of today, Curtis founded the New Generation Youth Empowerment Organization.  This non-profit organization focuses of key areas that are vital to youth development such as: relationship & skill building, youth/adult partnerships, community involvement, and development of bilingual skills.

KRISTEN SMITH

Kristen has received her Master’s degree from SUM Bible College where her concentration was in Christian Leadership. She and her husband are dedicated to partnering with other pastors in their city to build up leaders in the Five-fold ministry. Kristen also holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Spanish Literature from California State University of Los Angeles. Her passion and purpose is to use her education to break language barriers that hinder ministering the Gospel to the Spanish speaking communities. She is apart of the SUM faculty where she teaches 3rd year students Spanish Evangelism and shows them how they can minister the Gospel in Spanish.

She is the CEO of Project L.U.C.A.S., Inc. (Languages Unifying Community and Success), where her vision is to bridge the language gap in businesses, education, and churches that can empower individuals to learn a second language. She has also led and participated in missions to Spain, Mexico, New York and Urban Communities around the U.S.
