2019 Visionary Leader Conference
February 28-March 2, 2019 (New Orleans, LA)
Pastor Sammy Rodriguez was born to Puerto Rican parents in the United States. Teisa Nicole (was Teisa Miller) radically committed her life to Jesus as a teenager and also received His call to the nations. With a heart burning for missions, Teisa pursued various ministry training programs and opportunities. After years of ministry with Teen Challenge, Teisa felt God was leading her to attend SUM. The Holy Spirit transformed her life through the classes, chapel services, and practicums. After graduating SUM in 2001, Teisa joined the SUM support staff for a number of years. In 2004, Teisa received a vision from God and a word about reaching the Makua people of Mozambique. Teisa joined the missionary staff of Iris Global (under the leadership of Heidi and Rolland Baker) in Pemba, Mozambique. It was there that Teisa met her husband Jean Nicole and later celebrated their Luke 14 wedding by holding a huge feast for the poor and seeing many lives come into the Kingdom. After 5 years of serving in Mozambique, the Holy Spirit led the Nicoles to pioneer Michaels Childrens Village (MCV)- a family-based village of homes for orphaned, abandoned, and abused children in White River, South Africa. Almost ten years later-MCV is well established and providing a Biblical example of fighting for forever families for each child. The Nicoles also oversee a community outreach center called Village of Hope that includes Harvest Bible College, Jabulile Preschool, Dignity (reaching woman coming out of prostitution/anti-trafficking education) and other various ministries including a daily feeding/discipleship scheme. Jean and Teisa have three biological daughters (Johanna Joy, Glori Grace, Victoria Hope) and serve as ‘Papa Jean’ and ‘Mama Teisa’ to an ever expanding family in Africa.
