MA in Organizational Leadership from SUM Bible College (2014); B.A in Spanish Literature from California State University of Los Angeles
Professor Kristen Lucas Smith is currently receiving her Master’s degree at SUM Bible College in 2014 where her concentration was in Christian Leadership. With the completion of this degree, she has helped to strengthen the leadership structures at Destiny Christian Center, where her husband serves as Senior Pastor. Kristen holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Spanish Literature from California State University of Los Angeles. She is the cohort advisor for the Stockton cohort. Her passion and purpose is to use her education to break language barriers that hinder ministering the Gospel to the Spanish speaking communities.
As a solution, she started Project L.U.C.A.S., Inc. (Languages Unifying Community and Success) in 2004, where her vision is to bridge the language gap in businesses, education, churches and also to empower individuals to learn a second language. For the last 8 years, she has taught the Spanish Evangelism Course to 3rd year students at SUM and also College Core Courses. She has also led and participated in missions to Mexico, New York and Urban Communities in California. She has been married for 13 years to Pastor Curtis Smith and in 2018 God has blessed them to have their miracle baby Joshua.
