SUM Bible College Cohort- Houma
Located in South Louisiana near New Orleans, the Houma cohort is a site of SUM Bible College & Theological Seminary, and is filled with a rich heritage and history. Bayou Blue Assembly of God started its humble beginnings in 1924 on the porch of Telemac Matherne and grew to a 900+ member congregation. The heritage of the church has played an active role in Pentecostal history in the Louisiana Assemblies of God. Through leadership and mentoring, our students get the opportunity to have access to the large urban communities and inner city outreaches. Our students enjoy partnering with local ministries as well as growing and developing their ministry calling. It is the heart of our Visionary Leader Pastor Patrick Thompson, to develop and release ministry leaders who are equipped and ready to lead the next generation.
What to expect
When studying at SUM-Houma, our students can be engaged in children, youth, and adult ministries. Students will grow in their outreach skills by plugging into our homeless ministry, urban church “House of Hope”, and our student bus and school ministry. Students will learn all helps, media and sound skills needed to work in these departments. Students called to worship will be trained and serve on the student and church worship teams.
